Reusable textiles have a substantial and favourable effect on energy use, water reuse, toxic emissions and transmissions. Consider going beyond reusable gowns and utilising our complete medical linen protective gears to make a larger impact. That is where the role of surgical gown factory assumes a lot of importance. We're talking about surgical gowns, which are unavoidable in today’s scenario.
Research
The study stressed the importance of using surgical gear in a holistic,
science-based, and transparent manner. In areas like energy consumption, water
use, greenhouse gas emissions, and waste management, an investigation by the American Reusable Textile Association (ARTA) and the International Association for
Healthcare Textile Management (IAHTM) found that
reusable surgical gowns are significantly better for the environment than
disposable gowns.
The study looked at the whole life cycle of both disposable and reusable
surgical gowns, including the organic resources needed in their manufacture,
the energy consumed in production, the materials used in packing, and the
energy consumed in transportation at each stage of useful life. The study was
based on a review of 1,000 surgical gown uses, resulting in 1,000 throwaway
surgical gowns or 16.7 reusable surgical gowns.
What we came to know was shocking?
1. Using reusable gowns instead of disposable gowns resulted in a cut of
64 per cent in the use of natural resource energy.
2. Reusable and recyclable surgical gowns can cut down greenhouse gas emissions by 66%.
3. When recyclable surgical gowns are subjected to laundry and
wastewater treatment there is a considerable save of saves 87 per cent of
water.
4. Reusable gowns contribute to an 83 per cent reduction in solid waste
creation in medical healthcare facilities.
As you already know, it is important to use recyclable surgical gowns
than non-recyclable ones. It is evident to note the characteristic features of
these reusable surgical gowns before you place an order from a reputable surgical gown factory.
Distinctive features
- Function: The disposable
surgical gown is primarily a protection for both the medical staff and the
patient, serving as a protective barrier. It is used during surgery to
prevent infections of any kind or contact with body fluids, as well as protecting
the clothing and exposed skin of medical personnel.
- Usage: Disposable
surgical gown: used exclusively in the operating theatre, these gowns are
aseptically sterilised.
- Design
& Raw Materials: According to regulations, disposable surgical
gowns must be absolutely waterproof and sterile; they must also have
elastics at the wrists to make room for the sterile gloves worn by medical
personnel.
